According to SEC Bylaw 14.1.15

A student-athlete who, upon enrollment at the certifying institution, has less than two years of eligibility remaining, is not eligible for financial aid, practice or competition at the member institution. A member institution may request a waiver from the Conference office for academic reasons or for an individual transferring from an institution discontinuing a sport.

Unless they can get a waiver which i doubt not really sure why the SEC schools are going after him

I'm not wild about bringing in a player for one year, no matter how good. We need more than that. I would concentrate on recruiting Sledge -- he could be a star in the CAA -- and bring in the best other player we can find for next year -- maybe Bernardi?

Jojo my only concern is that if something happens to brown we will then be short in the post. Kone and Nwakoni are power forwards. If bernardi comes and sledge comes do they have to sit out a year?

Bernardi would not have to sit out a year but Sledge would probably have to sit out one year
