    Default Coach Cassara's Recruits

According to Dylan Butler of the nypost forward/center Ronald Brown of Christ the King committed to HU.

Some sited have Brown listed at 6'8'' and 240. Dont know much about him, maybe someome who know more can give us a scouting report.

From what I can gather, he was a reserve center at CTK who doesn't really put up numbers (??), but he he can block shots and be a defenseive space-eater (??)

With the loss of Halil though, it would be good just to get one more big body like Brown on the roster, and see if we can bring in another big who can give us close to the pts and boards that Halil gave us, as long as we still have the room/scholly avaialble. So, it can't hurt to have Brown even if he were limited offensively, because we could use any kind of size we can get since Halil left.

Afar, I believe it is Roland Brown, not Ronald. This is his profile on scout.com http://rutgers.scout.com/a.z?s=183&p=8&c=1&nid=3607153

Hopefully this kid knows how to play basketball, and can contribute right away, maybe just maybe Coach Cassara found us this year's Halil Kanecevic, similar measurements.

That's a picture of him, looks like Cassara may have got himself a diamond in the rough. Came off the bench at CTK, high energy guy something the team use.

Lets see the last two players from Christ the King were Speedy Claxton and Mike Radjeweski. Now I dont expect him top contribute like Speedy but Mike didnt come in highly touted. He was a very useful player for us.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most!

6'8'' 240 lbs. kid who doesn't start on his HS team and averages 4 ppg his senior year... I'm not sure this guy is going to be any sort of contributor this year. Nevertheless, it'll be good to have a big body... it's true you can't teach size. I also think he could be a good project who's worth the risk of a scholly... developing him and Bilbo could result in a big, strong front line in a few years.

Here's another link to the Post article. I couldn't get the other one to work:

I'm glad that we have another big body for the frontcourt. Also glad to see DeMeo and Cassara working their contacts in the CHSAA.

BTW, I don't understand the reference to Jael Pena.

All things considered, this is a solid pickup. I'm glad our first recruit is 6' 8, 250. They have addressed what we need, size. This website has Roland at rating of 2.5 and for what its worth, they had Halil as a 3.0 last season. Hope to hear about more recruits soon!
