Jablowhard, why do you even care? Ole Dirty U is moving up to CUSA.

Should the CAA simply not replace them with another football school? If they should do you have a better suggestion in mind? If not then why not just shut up about it?

That would be waived if you drop football or move up to FBS.

Doesn't the CAA waive the fee for a FBS reclassification? That fee is non-factor if it only applies within FCS.

    Announcements expected tonight.

Fiore has confirmed SBU's acceptance to Newsday

Once a team joins the CAA for football, there are only three possibilities for movement away from the CAA.

    1) Reclassification to FBS (fee waived)
    2) The school drops football (fee waived)
    3) The school cuts scholarships and drops down to a lesser conference (I don't think number 3 is a concern for either Albany or Stony Brook)

So what PF is saying is, for a football affiliate who wants to improve its football profile the "exit fee" from CAA football is a non-factor, because the likelihood that they will leave the CAA for another FCS football conference is very small.

I originally responded to a poster saying that there was no exit fee from CAA football, by posting the applicable section from the CAA Football bylaws showing that indeed there is.

I also stated that the fee was waived by dropping football or moving up.
My "huh" was because I had already specified his stated conditions as proscribed by the CAA Football bylaws.

    In response to you:

One of the things the poster alluded to is that a school might have made a mistake. In that case it might want to return from whence it came. Fee levied.

Additionally, there is the emergence of the Patriot and and rumored AE football or a future FCS conference as yet unknown, that could be factors in the future which could initiate what might be construed as a lateral move. Fee levied

The case of a URI that has in fact moved to another FCS conference, albeit fewer scholarships. Fee levied.

Officially announced by Yeager that Albany and SBU are joining CAA Football next July. Both schools bring
winning, growing programs to the CAA, both are excellent academic universities, and are serious replacements for Georgia State and ODU..

The Albany splash page includes URI but the Stony Brook one does not.

    Clarification is required.

Davidson will not announce its decision by October unless it decides to remain in the SoCon. CofC and Davidson might announce at the same time.

Davidson closes down completely over the summer. There is no summer school. The President was in Europe for over a month. The trustees do not meet over the summer.
