    Default Coker??

    DII opponent on the schedule.

    Ugh.
“I hate losing anybody,” Peterson said Monday morning from New Orleans, where he’s attending the Final Four. “We’ll get by this. It agonizes me a little bit that it’s so easy for them to leave.”

My first reaction was 'ugh,' but in the end, it doesn't really matter this year. If a DII shows up next year, I'd be a little concerned.

If we get a "W" no one will acknowledge it. If we get an "L" everyone will.

    No win situation.

I don't foresee any good coming from this for the same reasons 70's mentioned. It just doesn't make sense. However, since we aren't eligible for post season, if there is any year to schedule DII's, this is it.

According to Brian's blog, it was done because of a scheduling conflict. I personally don't mind the Hawks playing some teams that they should beat for a change. Yes, next year, not so much, but 1 D2 game isn't a problem. UNCA has been good lately and Wofford has been also-decent opponents. The away games look very tough so getting some home wins doesn't seem all bad. No big OOC home games this year though. Looks like next year would be the ticket for Richmond and Ohio at the very least.

It's a sad day when Ohio U. and Richmond are bigtime home games; their recent NCAA Tournament success notwithstanding.

Richmond, Ohio, Charleston, etc. are about as good as we're going to do at Trask right now. At best, majors get a win over a team that still brings down their RPI, and at worst a crushing loss.

If we can get things rolling again, maybe we get lucky and get a BCS conference team every 4 years or so on a 2/3-for-1 deal. These group scheduling deals with solid programs are good, but also keep the power up top, since they're forced to beat up on each other.
