Therefore my point remains, Mason men's basketball is the only marketable name, nationally, the CAA has at the moment. Nothing comes close now that ODU and VCU have left.

Off the top of my head, television ratings, appearing in national newspapers throughout the year with a story - USA Today, ect. - getting constant play on ESPN.com for various stories during the year, ect. Only a fool would think Mason's name is national. It's stature is not what is was in 06, but they certainly have national appeal.

I've watched enough ESPN to know that GMU is never (okay, maybe very rarely) mentioned outside of a day or two during March Madness. Every CAA school has been mentioned in the national media outlets. It's not a slam on the Patriots, but your not Gonzaga or Butler. Hell, GA State was on the cover of ESPN Mag...no one outside of a few of their rabid fans think they are recognizable outside Atlanta.
