2011 and 2012 CAA Football Champions
This is one guy that I really feel bad for because of the APR crap. However, I'll give him all the credit in the world for sticking around anyway and essentially sacrificing his career to be the foundation for the future. As far as I'm concerned, that dedication earns a free pass from me and hopefully he's such a beast that he'll get plenty of professional attention for his own future.
2012-13 -- A 'Banner' Year in Towson Athletics
Baseball -- 2013 CAA Champions
Men's & Women's Lax -- 2013 CAA Champions
Women's Swimming & Diving -- 2013 CAA Champions
Men's Basketball -- Biggest turnaround in NCAA history
I wouldn't say he's sacrificing his career Chris. This team was probably not going to postseason w/o the APR so he gets a chance to go to grad school and maybe can get an overseas look if he has a big senior season. He'll get the chance to play about 25-30 minutes instead of playing 10mpg on Providence's bench. I think he came here because Skerry was giving him a chance to play against some pretty decent competition (of course not Big East) and hopefully finish his career strong. There's a lot of pro teams that wouldn't mind a 6-9, 265-pound big man who can rebound and defend.
He's really a band-aid so they can groom Alston and hopefully add another big or 2 next season.
