that commissioner Benson, struck out on almost everything he tried. Raid of CUSA, expanision targets, conference mergers, expanision to 12 schools, conference championship game, yet he acts like they got everything they wanted. I guess if you are the commish of the Sunbelt, you have to think that way.

We would immediately be the cream of the crop in the sunbelt which would not be a bad thing. We are already a big fish in a small evaporating pond (CAA) so at this point we may as well move to another with an fbs label. At least there somebody some of the bigger fist may take us more seriously during future re-alignment.

i wouldn't get too excited over this. We were one of 20+ mentioned future candidates. Liberty was also mentioned. The only thing I take away from that article is that at least one conference has noticed us. That's literally all that happened.

Yeah, really nothing to see here. No indications that the Sun Belt had any communication at all with JMU which is fine by me. I've said it before but I don't want anything to do with that conference. There's not a single team in it that interests me.

mercy we have all of their budgets already beat by ~10 Million / year

"MTSU’s annual athletic budget of $21 million is around the highest in the Sun Belt, especially with the 2013 announced departures of North Texas ($22.4 million) and Florida International ($24.6 million) to C-USA."

I still don't understand how our budget is so high in comparison to other programs that are of a higher level than us. The CAA is stretched from Boston to Atlanta though, so there is some travel for all of our sports already.
