Delay in additons to CAA

Actually, for those who are move up to 1A proponents, I think it would be more likely to happen if no one moves to the CAA that is worth a damn. That would be a little more incentive for JMU to look to leave. If Appy State and SBU come to the CAA, we are going to be a lot more content to stay.

My guess is the delay is related to ASU.

You may be right. As it's often said, "no news is good news", and if there is a delay (if indeed there is one...we really don't know, we're just anxious to move forward) perhaps the extra time is being used to help ASU get it's ducks lined-up so they can move, which would be a very good thing.

I think ASU could make some difference, but I think Alger's view on the importance of 1A will be the real deciding factor. But that will not come into play this year.

Why are you guys talking about ASU? According to Dukes09 in his MAC/CAA poll ASU isn't even a rumored team.

I think this phrase is telling of the level of research in that article, "Appalachian State would be an interesting addition. Just two years ago, there was talk of them, along with James Madison and Villanova, looking to make the jump to Division I status."

Yet another reason I long for us to make the move, at least then everyone should realize we're already Division I.

Yeager said absolutely no one was leaving the CAA; Georgia State left a week later, VCU and ODU left about a month later.
