Official Draft Baze Thread

I can't be the only one who is going to sit through the whole draft tomorrow night just in case Baze goes late in the 2nd round. Get your drinks ready, it's going to be a long evening. If Baze's name is called, I plan on waking up my entire apartment complex.

While first-round prospects will receive most of the attention heading into Thursday’s draft, teams are starting to zero in on second-round prospects as well. One player who has attracted interest from a number of teams in the second round is Kent Bazemore of Old Dominion. He’s receiving looks from teams in the mid-to-late second round and he could hear his name called by Adam Silver tomorrow night.

Baze will be part of the OKC Thunder (Orlando) and Golden State Warriors (Las Vegas) for the NBA Summer Leagues. (he retweeted his agent saying this)

I would be really surprised if Kent Bazemore ever played a single game in the NBA! Never thought he had the mental toughness (would go AWOL at a lot of our BIG games) or maturity to take it to the next level. If there are teams looking for defensive skills only, he may stand a chance, otherwise, it just won't happen.

Agree with bluebyu. Always thought his pro potential was overrated.

His pro potential wasn't overrated. When he injured his foot and missed an entire offseason of practice, his draft chances were simply diminished as he was set back significantly. If he was never injured and continued his same rate of improvement, he was on track for getting drafted.

In my opinion, a couple years of working on his ball handling and improving his 3-pointers and he will find his way onto an NBA roster. He isn't far from it, now.
