We are screwed. I wonder how many UNCW alumni have become alcoholics in the last 7 years? The die hard supporters deserve better. As far as Buzz' recruits...5 of his recruits have left the program in 2 years on the job. I am glad that Snoop Dogg Allen isn't on the team with Morales. Holy Hell...that would have been a nightmare off the court with their joint pot smoking/selling ventures. Morales would've been the door to door salesman and Allen would have marketed the crap on YouTube. All kidding aside..we can still compete and win games this year.

Fair enough, they were on his watch, but they were still good enough students. Buzz hasn't been perfect obviously, but has helped turn it around. Rules are rules and UNCW hoops will have to sit out this year.

That was messed up. It could have been worse if 2 of them hadn't have xferred out to D1 schools and didn't have a 2.6 GPA. Fortunately, they did their part in the classroom. That has to be the goal for all players so that the school is protected. It's good for them and also the school.

Smith and KK did their parts and held up their end. Morales f'd us in future years and no polite,political correctness on your end is going to make me feel any better. We aren't going to go to any postseasons so play Keith and try to win as many games as possible this year.

This is not a surprise at all and the only big deal is the looming Morales fiasco.I disagree with saying Buzz has turned this around-they have zero winning seasons,penalties and more on the way and a ton of transfers-you are gonna have to show me how that is turning anything around.I do think they can this year and yes Rendleman should play and move on to his career.UNCW is not screwed but they have a lot of work to do both on and off the court to earn respect.

Morales put the nail in the coffin, but this goes back to a vendictive AD and a Chancellor who had no clue about athletics. The brunt of the blame has to be placed on our administration and the weasels that used their influence to get what they wanted. And, in turn, they destroyed our program. They excomunicated an award winning AD who had our whole athletic dept growing with success and they ran a successful basketball coach off that had us in post season play. We are still getting hit from the effects of the decisions they made. I do believe we are making the right choices in the direction that needs to be taken. It has been so frustrating because it seems like with every step forward we take, we are pushed back two steps.

I do think we will turn it around. We have to weather the NCAA sanctions and then get our feet firmly planted. What worries me the worst is that those same weasels are still in a position of influence. It just goes to show that money can be forgiven.

Actually Joe, I thought that you demonstrated a sense of humor for a change. I thought that was obvious by the way it was written.

Buzz turning it around only pointed to the APR situation and getting some quality individuals. It's all relative.

No, its even worse than that. They all ceased to be UNCW fans. After Brownell left, our fan base collectively took its ball and went home, dwindling to the point where just the (few) diehards were left behind. And yes, I am an alcoholic now.

It really sucks to think of where we were in 2006 and where we are now. I can't handle the idea that .500 seasons would be a minor miracle in basketball these days compared to what Wainwright and Brownell accomplished. Its a f***ing shame. And no one cares.

This is why I put all of my emotional investment in Baseball.
