Wonder if Comcast may look to have the tournament in their building. All this talk about moving out of Richmond occurred while the NHL scheduling was pretty much locked into place, and the Flyers have home games on March 1, 4 and 10 (first two weekends in March). So perhaps have it at the Palestra next year while the following year the schedules for the Flyers and Sixers can be worked around to have the CAAT at the Wells Fargo Center. Just a thought.

That's not going to happen because if the cost. The only way I see it as an option, is if NBC/Comcast takes such in interst in the CAA, that they want to take advantage of Xfinity Live and NBC Sports Arena to help promote the tournament, and the Comcast/NBC Sports Network Broadcast, and Comcast Spectacor would be willing to let the CAA use the Wells Fargo Center for free rent. With the current deal with Richmond, the CAA does not pay rent for the RC, and only pays for operating costs. CAA would have to strike a similar deal, and considering that the Wells is a high demand arena, unlike the RC, I don't see that happening.
For every Shaka Smart, there are ten Monte Ross's.
You're probably right, but my thinking was that NBC/Comcast won't have the ACC, Big10, Big12, PAC12 or SEC because they have all pretty much been locked up by ESPN for the next 10 or so years. There isn't all that much left out there. They have the CAA, ND football and (I think) the Mountain West and the Big East and A10 rights coming up which they could grab. Perhaps they will help out the league with some things to make it a more marketable product, such as hosting the tournament in a modern, major league facility. It's a long shot, but I think it is more likely to happen here than Verizon or PNC (formerly RBC) since they own the building and would set the price. Again, just a thought.

Agree, I don't know how anyone could sit thru 4 games on those hard bleachers. Love the history of the place, but four games with no cushions or any back rest would be a killer.
Drexel should be strong for a few years and it would be nice to see you guys host the CAATs. The sponsorship is huge and you need to work on that. With VCU having the tourney for so long, they had sponsors and volunteers already set up. That what gave them the leg up on keeping it in the Brown Dump. In a city like Philly, I think you could find several solid sponsors.
