    Since 2003
Total wins: JMU 75 UD 75
Conference wins: JMU 49 UD 43 (Advantage JMU)
Losing seasons: JMU 0 UD 2 (Advantage JMU)
Losing seasons (in conference): JMU 1 UD 3 (Advantage JMU)
Playoff appearances: JMU 5 UD 4 (Advantage JMU)
National Championships: JMU 1 UD 1

I suppose in fairness we'll note "Advantage UD" for getting to the NC game and losing 2 out of 3 times (and losing badly in near record fashion (49-21) on their second effort, and doing a choke job on their third try. So, if that's your cup of tea, you're welcome to it. Just don't try and spin silly crap about JMU being a "little more consistent"...because (and I'm not sorry that the truth hurts blue chick egos) the records show UD football has been eclipsed by JMU.
Even I will have to stand up for the Blue Chicks a little bit.
Here's a better breakdown of each playoff appearance:
    UD - 2003 National Champions
    2004 Loss in the Quarters
2007 Loss in the Championship Game
2010 Loss in the Championship Game

    JMU - 2004 National Champions
2006 Loss in the 1st Round
2007 Loss in the 1st Round
    2008 Loss in the Semis
2011 Loss in the 2nd Round

Yes JMU has gotten to the playoffs more consistently lately, but UD has done more with the appearances they've had.

And it's actually 3 trips to the NC game. I do wish UD was a little more consistent, but I'll take those 3 appearances every day of the week.

Amazing the number of people constantly "monitoring" (can that word even be used around here anymore?) this board all the time. I'm not even wandering around here and we've got blue chickens and butterflies all over.

when's the last time some of you folks bothered to go over to the geriatric section and visit Gohens?

and '09, you may not count, cause I'm not sure what ELSE you do, do...

Week 2 FCS Coaches Poll and TSN FCS Poll:
JMU advances to #6 in the Coaches poll, up from #8.
JMU remains at #5 in the TSN Poll

    http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/t...v-1aa-poll.htm

edit: i thought in previous years that losses to FBS programs didn't really affect your standing in the FCS polls, but it looks like every team that lost their FBS game dropped at least one spot in the rankings mainly.
also despite leading WF and UMD for most of their games, both teams lost late and neither receive any love from either poll, liberty and W&M respectively. Even when taking an ACC team to the woodshed, Liberty can't get ranked, how sad.

This is why a win against a patsy is better than a loss to a 1A! It's all about making the playoffs and right now we have 1 1AA win towards the requisite 7.
