I hear ya. Unfortunately thats the nature of the beast that leaves small schools like the dub agreeing to crappy 2 or 3 for 1's etc. I know Cuse has always been bad about home games and honestly surprised the Kentucky was just as bad if not worse.

    Mullet,

Could we get your opinion on taxpayer money possibly going to fund the proposed Minor League Baseball Stadium and your thoughts on the likely vote in November?

    Mullet:

How about taking a look at this and giving us your expert opinion?

“I hate losing anybody,” Peterson said Monday morning from New Orleans, where he’s attending the Final Four. “We’ll get by this. It agonizes me a little bit that it’s so easy for them to leave.”

Love minor league baseball and your taxes will go up either way.

Why are people so adamantly opposed to paying the appx. $2/month increase for this to happen?

That's a good question. That's a really really small price to pay for something that

    1. Provides jobs to the community
    2. Provides an incredible family atmosphere
    3. Provides the community a cheap avenue to baseball at the professional level
    4. Gives Wilmington more exposure
    5. Would undoubtedly help to boost the UNCW baseball program and arguably boost enrollment at UNCW

Just seems like too many good scenarios for everyone to be so against it. Hell, mullet is right. Your taxes are going to go up regardless. You might as well have them go up for something that you can actually benefit from and ENJOY, nonetheless.

While I agree, I do believe that the Braves and Mandalay could pony up more money. And from past experience, I don't really trust any promises our local officials make. Believe it or not, they do lie.

33, that's true for ANY politicians. The good news is I remember reading an article that said, of all the cities in NC, Wilmington is the most efficient at using local tax dollars. So for now, I trust that this will be done right with Mandalay Bay's backing.

I don't know anything about this, but I'm not sold on the ball club giving exposure to the city or their impact on UNCW. Perhaps I'm just naive, but I'm curios if there are examples this impacting other cities/universities?

How does the ball club not give exposure to the city? I grew up on the Outer Banks of NC. The closest baseball to me was the Norfolk Tides in Virginia. People drive for hours to go see minor league baseball, which by default gives exposure to the city.

In regards to UNCW, I was mostly thinking like jobs for students, more programs/jobs available to them post-graduation, etc.
