Elon, CofC, Davidson, and Furman? Really? No SBU? Really? Are you kidding me?

Good thing we didn't go to the A-10 as it would have sucked to have to play all those small private colleges that Mason didn't have anything in common with. (yes, I know CofC isn't private.)

I'll continue..just as George Mason prides itself on it's committment to academic excellence, they surround themselves in a confernece with two of it's affiliated members that can't even compete for a title because their teams are so dumb. Clearly our best interests were to stay in a conference where academics means crap.

Good Lord - UNCW is not an academically questionable school - this issue has to do with the performance of the athletes on the teams. If we get some of the decent replacements - we can still have a solid foundation for success. Towson will be poised for a strong turn around in basketball and Davidson has proven it can do well. If Mason sits atop this conference and gets consecutive trips to the dance we will be much better off than if we would have to battle it in the A-10 and hope for an at large.

If (and I am not saying it will happen) VCU struggles and does not make it to the NCAA tourney in a couple of years they will not be as excited about the move as they are now.
