W+M Logo

I was in the DMV this afternoon viewing the school logo license plates from a distance and saw what i thought was a APPY State logo plate. When I was called to the kiosk I looked back at the license plate wall again and noticed the plate was for W+M...not APPY State. The plate had some kind of white bearded guy hiking in a forest of one pine tree.

I've never seen this before. Went to the school website thinking this must be what replaced the feathers logo (which I liked) and see only the griffin. Who is that guy?

On their official colleges page, there are two. The one Hyper Duke mentioned and the one with the emblem.

I don't get it. You're just saying you couldn't figure out what the Griffin was until you saw it more clearly? Thanks for posting I guess. Hopefully they checked your eyes while you were at the DMV.
