A little off topic, but I'm trying to figure out how the 2013 CAA tournament is going to be organized. Assuming that GSU, ODU, VCU, and GMU are either gone or ineligible and UNCW is ineligible due to APR, we'll be down to seven teams. I guess we'll have a #7 vs. #6 play-in round, and a first-round buy for the #1 and #2 seeds. Weird format.

The good news is, we actually have a shot at making the semis this year!

Well, I guess we have a 2/3 chance of making the CAA semifinals. I suppose Brady will be getting that extension after all.

Two reactions to your prediction. First, what's the point of bringing Brady back if you plan to fire him in mid-season? That makes no sense at all. If that's your strategy, you should be fired (the JMU admin that is). Second, why does JMU need months to find a replacement? Other schools find replacements in a week or less in many cases.

A healthy Julius Wells, Devon Moore, Andrey Semenov and Rayshawn Goins, plus an NCAA cleared Jay Millen is worth more than one or two wins. That's preposterous statement....I'm sorry to disagree with you on that one. They had a number of close games throughout the season and during the conference portion that could easily have been wins. Moreover, momentum and confidence are key to any team. Often, there's a fine line between winning and losing.

I didn't say they were planning to fire him. I said I predict that is what will happen, unless the spots on the Leopard somehow miraculously change. I stick by my assertion that I don't think we would have won but a couple of more games without the injuries. Millen is not part of the equation as we have never seen, nor will we ever see him play. Unfortunate as that was.

Maybe the money they are saving by not firing Brady will be used to pay any exit fees. A guy can dream, right?

I don't think Matt should get any consideration or sympathy for having "lost" Millen. You're not the only one who's said that '84. I just don't get it. Brady did that to himself.

I didn't say he deserved sympathy or compassion on Millen. He, Brady that is, knew it was probably a 50/50 proposition that was worth taking a gamble on and he lost, of course. Having seen him play, he would have been an impactful player. They took a chance on him when they brought him in to begin with (and it didn't work out). That's what happens when you're dealing with JUCOs.

That D-lineman that transferred in from Army was granted a sixth year, as I recall. I'm not familiar enough with NCAA regs to comment further, but there was a case to be made for Millen.

I just haven't heard any facts to back up that decision by Brady. If it's 50/50, that's not good odds if you need him to save your job.

I was informed that Rose makes the decisions until he officially leaves. Alger is not involved in any conference realigment decisions until he takes over. I was at the event last night and that was what I was told.

According to Bourne, we will know how the Conf. USA stuff plays out by the middle of May. He did seem to be holding something back and the vibe I got was positive for us going forward when i spoke with him. I also got the same vibe talking with the Mickster for about an hour before the event. Mickey would not say anything officially, and deflected all those type questions to Bourne, but he does know something and when he expressed that; he had a grin on his face. Sorry, I can give you nothing else, but that's all i know other than what others have said occurred last night.

I wonder if Mickey's grinning now. I bet he has his "Dadgum" face on.
