Not a one of our Coaches has ever thought of how they would respond to a question like that from a recruit. Right. Ridiculous.
You really think that if they're giving recruits any hints other than distant, unfounded possibilities that it hasn't managed to find its way into the gossip world?

that's not what you said. This, however, is:
JMU's answer, "well uhm, well we, well this and that and uhmmmmmm..... we don't really know".
Yes, our stammering, six toed, idiot staff "don't really know". At least they don't know because Dukes09 hasn't been privy to it, or something like that. right.

It is not only an effort question with recruiting into the Carolina's, it is a money question. Recruiting budget is one of those big hidden costs when you move up and we are not close to that yet. We definitely lose recruits to ODU based on academics. There are players we simply cannot get approved but ODU will take them in a minute. Not a knock on ODU per se, it is just a fact. JMU has a higher academic standard than UVA from what I have been told.

I've heard that unless a candidate is REALLY off the beaten path in terms of their high school academics coming in, that schools at any level lower the standards for football recruits. Is JMU really that picky when turning down a recruit because of grades?

Yes. And the coaches don't have the final say, the JMU admissions board does. No exceptions.

Hanky, I understand what you are saying, however, if it is 3 hours to drive northeast to recruit a high school player from Severna Park, Md, then it seems just as logical for the same coach to travel in a southwest direction plus an additional 150 miles with the same hotel and meals expense, I don't see it.

Look at ODU traveling to the suburbs of ATL to get their current QB and now others??!!
