    Fingers are crossed.
Like so much of this, the BU speculation was rumor.
It does seem that BU's move to the Patriot is in reaction to something, as it is not really a move up.

There is logic to the idea of bringing in Maine, UNH, and Albany to create a viable CAA North; however to think that there is some sort of long term collusion with Boston University may give the CAA admin more intellectual credit than they deserve. ( j/k)

Nothing will be announced until CAA has fait accompli situations with new members. This may, however,
move quickly since all moves need to be announced by June 30th.

I do like the complete absence of leaks out of the CAA and potential new members...hard to do but they appear to be doing it. Only unsubstantiated rumors and nothing else.

Yeager actually appears in charge here.

That was unexpected and a big blow I think to the A-East. You have to think that at least one more member will be departing for the CAA - Stony Brook seems very likely. This may signal Albany as well? Have always hoped UNH would be on the front burner.

As MJ once mockingly tagged his own thread a few weeks ago at the CAA - "Who's Next?" - I think this is now much more relavant to the America East......

Albany's FB coach is the only current college FB coach who has coached at the same school longer than JL. I'm not sure that nugget was post-worthy but it's a bit interesting that the CAA will own the longevity smack.

    Let the SoCon raiding begin...

    Per Twitter:
"CAA fans shouldn't be surprised if Stony Brook, Elon, Charleston, Davidson & Furman ALL join the CAA, per sources"

If this in fact occurs, IMO, this would be a home run for William and Mary.

Some fairly strongly worded denials from Stony Brook AD. I know denials don't mean much in the conference re-alignment game, but if a move was iminent I would have expected some a milder boilerplate denial.

The "you're either with us or you're not" comment from the SB AD would be particularly bold one to make if you were getting ready to bolt yourself.

Getting SB, Elon, Charleston, Davidson and Furman would be a home run though.

Looks like Albany is coming to CAA in football starting in 2013 per http://www.bigpurplefans.ipbhost.com/

    Twitter:

@JonRothstein: Sources say CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager was on Stony Brook's campus this week. Could it be a sign?
