Yeagers statement reads in part "We've been aware that GSU was having discussions with the Sun Belt Conference as the CAA could not accommodate that desire within GSU's timeframe".

Within GSU's timeframe? Dont want to read in to that too much but.......

Ga State now faces a humiliating CAA football season in which they could easily lose every game, some by huge blowouts, before "moving up" in 2013 to the seedy Sun Belt.

I don't think they were worried about ECU winning either. I think it had something to do with recruiting.

Yeah, seriously. Sounds like a very obvious hint to CAA football looking to reclassify if possible.

Think that the likes of Richmond and W&M are a drag on that plan. Though ODU, JMU, and a few others would love it.

If they upset ODU in the tournament and ended your chance of getting the auto bid you would probably feel different.

Yeah there are certainly a number of teams in the CAA right now that do not want to go FBS (the two you mentioned as well as Maine, UNH, and I'm not convinced Towson is close to ready for a move anytime soon either). If the CAA really wanted to do this, there would be a lot of issues to iron out.
