    Default Luke Hancock

Hey guys Louisville fan here. Over at our board we are speculating on next year, and a lot of us have really no idea what to expect for Luke. Pitino was on the radio this morning saying that he is the best player on the team, but if you know anything about Rick his is known to take part in a little bit of hyperbole every once in a while.

So what do you guys think? The only game I saw him in was against Villanova last year, and he looked pretty damn good obviously. How good of an athlete is he? He is a career mid 30s% 3 point shooter, should we expect improvement on that?

Thanks for the help guys it's greatly appreciated.

He who shall not be named is deceptively athletic. My favorite player until he ditched us.

Luke is extremely crafty and always find ways to get to the bucket. Most important - he always tends to follow his shots. A lot of his buckets are second chance opportunities. His shooting will not blow you away, but his explosiveness will. I hate that he left us, but it is impossible for me to hate him as a person and as a player. I wish him all the best at Louisville and will root for him every step of the way, unless Mason winds up playing you guys at some point over the next 2 seasons.

Spend a minute searching the web site and you can find endless threads on this. Don't be lazy.

Luke is not going to do well in the Big East. good CAA player, but against top competition day in and day out, I don't think his "deceptively athletic" will be enough to get over the length and athleticism of top college players. Yes he did well against Villanova, but that wasn't an elite Villanova. We'll see how he does against the top half of the Big East, it won't be pretty....

He doesn't do anything that's going to allow you to get past kentucky next year. Sorry didnt mean to lash out, but the topic is still a little hurtful.

LH is a playmaker with pinpoint alley oop passing from any distance who can also hit threes and take it to the basket. He's mentally tough and reads the game well. He's not quick enough to guard the better perimeter players, but he does create turnovers on d by anticipating and guessing right. Expect your better players to be catching the ball in scoring position a lot next year.

Alright let's do this. Here are several top plays I remember.

    1. Bouncing an inbounds pass off the defender's back, catching it, and then dunking.
    2. Putting a shoulder into Larry Sanders and scoring a layup with Sanders camped out waiting to stop him.
    3. Some huge Ga St thug pushed him and Luke got right up in his face. The thug skulked away.
    4. Throwing a pinpoint alley oop from the sideline on an inbound play.
    5. Receiving an alley oop from the endline on an inbound play.
    6. Throwing back to back alley oops on consecutive possessions - to the same guy.
    there are so many more.
