WNIT Final: JMU vs. OSU

Watched part of their game last night. They looked fast and opportunistic. By the end of the game the OkSt point guard was blowing past her defender going down the court. Have a feeling this will be a fast-paced game. I think our strong defense will definitely help us out, though.

Yes, I agree the Cowgirls are beatable, but they arguably play in the tougest women's BB league in the country. And with wins over the likes of A&M, Texas Tech, and Texas this season (all at home), IMO OSU will be the toughest team JMU has played all season...and if we win, our biggest win in program history. Also of note, OSU got beat badly by Baylor at Baylor, but played them much tougher at home.

One of OSU's best players is a 6' freshman...tied for leading scorer on their team, and also a big contributor in other areas. I would expect NN to draw her as a defensive assignment.

The 6'6" player for OSU is a sophomore, and a contributor to their team, but she doesn't appear to be a regular starter. It will be interesting to see how OSU decides to matchup against the Lady Dukes. Again, JMU appears to have a deeper and bigger bench, but OSU has that 6'6" gal and two others that are listed at 6'4".

Not that it means a whole lot, but here are the possible height match-ups. Not saying this is how it is going to be, but based of the normal starters,

5’6” vs 5’7”
6’ vs 6’
5’10” vs 6’
6’2” vs 6’2”
6’2” vs 6’2”

Granted, this doesn't include the bench. We are deeper in the bench, but they have a little more height on the bench.
Also looking at their game notes, it looks like Bias and Shultz play the most minutes both playing for the whole game.

something ive noticed from watching the womens game (in some cases, not all) is that if your players are decent around the rim or even worth seriously mentioning, then they are starting. I havent seen a big girl come off the bench that is really anything to special

Watching the OKST vs San Diego game, OKST reminds me a lot of WF and USF in their quickness. They like to run the ball. They seem to rebound the ball well.

EDIT: They just showed the score to the JMU/Syracuse game, talk about dissing on the two schools. For Syracuse, they have the Alabama logo, for JMU they have the Auburn logo? Didn't know we play in the SEC.

A bus? That is ridiculous. After a 20 hour bus ride they get to play in the WNIT championship game. Not good a good sign. JMU is cheap, cheap, cheap. This really infuriates me.
