    Default Patrick Holloway

DCSportsFan Basketball Awards (2011-2012)by: Todd Bradley 3/12/2012
DCSportsFan Senior & Player of the Year (5 of 6)
    Patrick Holloway, Paul VI
On paper, Holloway doesn't look like the Player of the Year. He only scored more than 20 points five times. But when you see the PVI senior in person, you understand why he deserves to be named the Senior and Player of the Year. Holloway led the Panthers to a perfect league record (21-0), a WCAC title and a Virginia state title. He was also the most clutch player in the league and won multiple games on last-second shots.

Just in case you want to see what he has left before he takes his talents to George Mason, Holloway and his fellow Panthers will participate in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament then turnaround and battle Coolidge for the City Title.

Good to see this type of talent staying in Fairfax. There's a thread we started about Holloway that you might want to check out. Regardless, I'm very excited to see what he can do. Great get for Mason, especially in attitude. He plays with confidence and class - he seems to embody the type of player I want to see in green and gold.
Can I kick it?... yes you can

Paul VI listed as the #8 HS team in the country, with Holloway listed by name:

“Following a sparkling season, Paul VI will looks to continue its success, and potentially crack the top five, in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational. The tandem of Stanford Robinson and Patrick Holloway could have its hands full. The competition, which starts Thursday, includes talented St. Benedict's, DeMatha and Gonzaga College teams.”

Also listed are locals Oak Hill (#1), Hargrave (#5), Montrose (#14), and Dematha (#24), as well as a familiar school for us in St Benedict’s in NJ (#13). Makes you feel good about the quality of HS teams in our area and that we frequently recruit from.

Here are the brackets for the Alhambra tournament: http://www.acit.us/

Paul VI plays at 9:15 tonight vs Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, MD)--radio coverage but it's a Cambridge station so I'm guessing it's too far away for us Virginians.

    Go Patrick!

Paul VI wins by 1 over Gonzaga! Wonder who had the game-winner?

Get to play DeMatha one more time! Do it to them again Patrick.

Game story: The REAL news is that Patrick didn't score the game winner, although he was the high scorer.

High school basketball: Paul VI Catholic, Coolidge meet in Abe Pollin City Title Game
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports...sNS_story.html

No disrespect, but I didnt know anything about DeMatha or Gonzaga, said Holloway, now a senior committed to play next season at George Mason. Im from Stafford County. I know nothing about anything. I was oblivious to it all.

(article was on the front of the print Sports page, online version has a lead picture of Holloway)
