    Default Brady Retained

    According to selig

    BREAKING: Matt Brady has been retained as JMU basketball coach, athletic director Jeff Bourne said.

    let the fly!

    IMO this decision was probably made after putting feelers out for some better coaches. Im confident JB did his due diligence and saw Brady as the best option on the table.

    Still optimistic for next year. (when am i not?)

    3 almost simultaneous threads about this.

    O well.... such is life. Let the lame duck season commence. Two big mistakes for the JMU athletic admin so far this school year. A botched playoff game bid, and retaining Brady. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll be left behind in the conference shuffle. Highly likely.

    Retaining Brady w/o extending him is the death knell for this program. How in the hell can he recruit next year?

    amending my statement until final facts come out.

    Agreed. Obviously not happy with the state of JMU basketball, but wouldn't want to see him let go if we were to go on another crap shoot of a coach hunt.

    Can't say I'm surprised...I don't think this is a bad thing, we'll have 6 seniors on next year's team with a pretty good incoming freshman class. We cannot let our current freshmen transfer out though, we have to keep them here.

    No one AT ALL has said that there wont be an extension. All of this is based on one very vague tweet that I am sure Selig rushed to post. We know, based on the tweet, that we will continue to retain his services. More details will come to the surface soon about an extension or no extension.

    Expect an extension if he gets us to 18-20 wins next year. Even above .500 would probably be all that is required from JB and company.
