  2. Re: IARC Recommend's Serious Cut's to UNCW Athletics

I'll bet a nickle that if the PTB at the school said they wanted to sue one or more of their predecessors for damages, they could find able counsel willing to take on a little public interest charity...
  3. Re: IARC Recommend's Serious Cut's to UNCW Athletics

Who says they can't be sued? You can sue a ham sandwich if you want. I imagine there might be an attorney or two that might take the case.

    Re: New basketball possibility

I would imagine UNCW would be happy to forgo any penalties due it should Peterson leave early at this point. If he took that 50% paycut, however, it would say volumes about how he honestly assesses...

Hopefully he will overcome his conflicted feelings and do for the Bobcats what he has done for the Seahawks....

    Re: # 23 Seahawks @ # 1 UNC

Out of curiosity, when else - if ever - has UNCW beaten the #1 ranked team in the nation in any sport?

  10. Re: Question: How has the Big East managed to split in two, yet retain two auto bids?

Nice work. Thanks for the insights.
  11. Re: Question: How has the Big East managed to split in two, yet retain two auto bids?

I fully understand that the Big East has been stronger than, say, the Big South . But my understanding is that conferences are all governed by the same set of rules. So is there some rule that...
  12. Question: How has the Big East managed to split in two, yet retain two auto bids?

Now that the "Big East" has split into the "American Athletic Conference" and the "Catholic 7" Big East, how did they manage to do it keep automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament for both conferences?...

Re: Eddie Biedenbach new Associate Head Coach

Probably as good a hire as you can expect, given the circumstances.

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

So why is she there? I assume that someone must have her back. If the school has the stomach to show coaches the door, why don't they have the stomach to downsize her in this belt-tightening...

OK, Cottonball,I will bite. What is the deal with Pat Howie? I have heard she is bad news. But what kind of bad news? And why do you think she is still around?

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

My point was that staying put in the Colonial WILL BE eating crow and moving down a notch or two. If we don't watch out, we will be Pinto and Flounder at the Omega House rush party, stuck hanging...

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

It's like Conference USA...not so long ago it was Louisville, Marquette, Cincinnati, De Paul, etc - now even ECU has gotten out of it (as of today ) in all sports. What is left behind is something...

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

These things aren't static...heck NOTHING is static these days. Suppose you negotiated such a separation. It would be easy to see other basketball-only schools from, say, the Big South eager to...

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

Lots of things can be done to rationalize an irrational situation. The southern conference is losing Appalachian and and Georgia Southern to the Sunbelt tomorrow. The CAA just lost a basketball...

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

Ok. The status quo is not acceptable. But how about UNCW do a little strategic thinking for once in a long while?

The truth is that other schools are thinking exactly the same thing, and no...

Re: CAA Landscape to change once again.

The CAA has some valuable assets. Automatic Bid to NCAA Tournament. A stream of NCAA tournament money due it. It will have another wad of cash from Mason paying out to leave.
    So I just don't see...
