My recommendation for areas to live would be Buckhead, Midtown or Highlands. They're all in the city and nice neighborhoods with good restaurants and nightlife. It reallly depends on what you're looking for in where you live. Midtown is right in the city and has more clubs. Buckhead is a more upscale but has lots of good bars and restaurants (not the same crazy bar scene it use to be but still plenty to do). Highlands is more residential and has a more quaint feel to it but has a good nightlife. Where will you be working?

As for JMU events, there is an alum chapter and my wife and I both attend some functions. Unfortunately, it doesn't get great participation, but some people have been talking about trying to do more for football games, etc. I would love to get more people together for the games. It's a work in progress at the moment.

ATLjmufan, been considering a move and job to Atlanta. What areas would you recommend living? Are there JMU alum gatherings? Any info would be much appreciated!
