All 3 kids that VCU signed were better regarded than Stith. Just because we have offers out to several guys doesn't mean they were our top targets. VCU and ECU aren't even close to comparable as programs, especially now. We had 1 scholarship that was available that was going to Antravious Simmons, a public top target for over a year who had a FAR superior offer sheet to Stith.
The ridiculous nonsense is that you actually think a kid would choose ECU over VCU if he had a choice to go to either. ECU is where basketball talent goes to die. Look at all those recruiting 'coups' you listed, what have they done to make ECU relevant in college basketball? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
He's not a guard #1, especially not a 6-1 shooting guard like the kind you claim to have signed instead, but keep telling yourself that ridiculous nonsense. The guy is John Fields with a jump shot if anything. You had scholarships when he signed, wanted him, and lost out. I don't know what's so hard to believe, we've beaten you guys plenty over the years on quality players we both offered.... John Fields, Brock Young, Gabe Blair, Jamar Abrams etc. Nothings changed. We got another good kid Caleb White, from Virginia as well with a offers from Virginia Tech, Cincy, Richmond etc. We got both he and Stith mid summer when they were just starting to blow up.
No you didn't. VCU had their 2 guard recruits long before Stith committed before the July eval period started. No offer from VCU at the time he committed to ECU which was late August. UVa's offer was conditional upon him reclassifying to 2014. Why on earth would he chose ECU if given the option to choose between both schools? They couldn't be in more different places right now.
