Tough weekend against Akron

Mason falls today 6-5 with another bullpen collapse to lose the weekend series 2 games to 1. Mason held a 4-1 lead heading into the 6th before allowing the zips to score 3 in the sixth and 1 in the seventh. Mason tied it but the akron bats were too much for us as we allowed another run to score in the eight.

Mason is back in action on thursday and then take on odu for the weekend series in fairfax.

while i will agree the bullpen has struggled this year, the hitters didn't do their part today at the plate . . . too many easy outs, and too many LOB.
those combined, is a recipe for a long weekend

ODU RHP Verlander is regarded as one of the top 2 pitchers in the nation - - I understand he is pitching game 1 of the series on friday

Thursday's game is against a 2-6 Brown team. Hopefully we can take all four games this weekend.
