I just watched some video on him and I have a question. 275? He has to be closer to 300. Keep in mind that I haven't seen him a lot but he reminds me of Wes Unseld, is that close?

Don't let the weight fool you. More of a "Charles Barkley-type" from Auburn. Quick hands and feet and knows how to position himself under the basket. Can also handle the ball when needed at the top of the key.

I disagree, Even at Auburn the chuckster had athleticism that Jai can't hope to approach. Also, he was really good at running the floor, and that's also not Jai's strength. Also, never once have I heard Jai scream "GINOBILI!"

You know what? Wes Unseld might actually be a pretty decent comparison. Jai can stick the little 15 footer maybe better than Unseld, but otherwise, the comparison is pretty valid.

The thing about Jai is his positioning. If he gets the ball in the post, it's all over -- which is why he shoots almost 60-percent from the floor and was at one time ranked in the top 10 nationally for field goal percentage among Division 1 players.

It doesn't matter how big or tall Jai's opponent is. He scored almost at will against Sean May of UNC and the two 6-10 guys from Tennessee -- and he rarely ever gets his shot blocked.

Recently, he has become very adept at passing out of the double team -- either finding Kevin Mickens underneath or one of our guards on the perimeter.

agreed, that and a soft touch around the bucket, but I don't think that was the question. He was asking for a comparable player, and, I think Wes Unseld was a a pretty good choice.

My favorite wes unseld story: Back when wes was coaching the bullets, he and Manute Bol got into an argument. Well, tempers flared and words were exanged. ONe thing led to another, and wes grabbed manute around the waist, and picked him straight up, slamming his head into the ceiling, well, the ceiling panel split and wes kept right on pushing, jamming manute's head up into the ceiling to his neck, wes then let go and walked away and let manute fall. Fight over.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't want to get into a fight with Unseld, Barkley or Jai. I kind of look on Jai as a combination of Unseld and Barkely -- but I tend to agree with Herndon that he mostly resembles the former.

Jai is a lot more agile than people would expect, but his weakness is definitely his stamina. I'd rather see Larranaga sub Wurtz in for Lewis and leave Mickens on the floor for offense. Then I'd bring Jai back in for Mickens and substitute Urbina for Mickens. That way Urbina and Wurtz aren't on the floor at the same time.

Thanks for all the info. No matter what his size is he is very impressive to watch. I am excited to get a chance to see Jai and the rest of the Patriots play tonight. BTW someone post on here earlier that us Duck fans don't respect the GMU players or fans, that is not true. Just because one fans said we should win by 20 (a GMU fan said you'd win by 12) doesn't mean that the majority of us feel that way. I love the fact that we get to play schools we haven't have faced. I give us a chance to learn new information and we get to communicate we people we may not otherwise get a chance to meet. The GMU fans that I have had the opportunity to chat with have been great.

Jai is great under the basket, but he does not seem to be able to get up and down the court too quickly at times. I think he should lose about 15 lbs and work on endurance.

Boundlssambition, Jai hit 6 of his 8 shots from the floor for 17 points against UNC, and most of those buckets came against May in the low post. I'd call a 75-percent shooting percentage pretty dominant -- especially when you consider how tough of a defender May can be.
