On 'Paint It Purple' night for the Carolina Mudcats game against the Jacksonville Suns, Raynr, batting lead-off was welcomed to the plate with the chant of 'Sea Chicken' every time he stepped into the batters box by the Pirate faithful. Just like old times for John! I'm sure he had a tear in his eye with that nostalgic walk down memory lane! :lol:

The tear in his eye was due to the smell of hog farm waste. John is used to smelling the fresh air off the Atlantic Ocean so you are going to have to give him some time to get used to it. As far as the "Seachickens" chant. You wonder why every school in the state thinks your fans are the worst. Always the chip on the shoulder and nobody likes that. He's just been the starting third or first baseman for the DBacks since 03. Sat out most of last year and the beginning of this year having microfracture surgery on his knee.

Career .287 hitter with 572 games played

Best year so far has been '05 when he hit .308 with 27 HR's.
