What a great win for our Lady Dukes and for Kenny Brooks. I'm totally fascinated by these numbers that Evans and Young are putting up - where in heck did this come from. I guess playing out of conf. has something to do with not playing them the same on def, but holly molley those are some incredible numbers - 38 and 30 in one game, wow. According to my calculations she is 19 points shy of the record. The CAA website had an article when she won player of the year that said she was 115 points behind the all-time leader before the CAA tournament. Since she has scored 12, 16, 38, and 30 for a total of 96. That is the closest I could fine to a definite answer.

Yeah I got 19 as well, she is also 14 points away from breaking the record for most points scored in a season.

Pretty good write up. Looks like their strongest players are in the post from those rebounding numbers. We are going to need Jen Brown, Nina, Kisha, and Lauren to step up and have solid games on the interior if we want to continue this run.

Looking at the brackets, the Lady Dukes are in position for a continued run.

Kentucky finished the year 15-15. Nothing stellar. They did have one of the tougher schedules in the country, including a home loss to ODU 71-62 and an away loss to GW 75-65. Like JMU, it took OT to beat Middle Tennessee State U. (a very good team) in their first round match. Now we will need both Tamera and Dawn to have a strong game and get JMU to the Elite 8 of this WNIT.

Taking a look down the line, I really think this will be JMU's toughest opponent until the Final Four should Gonzaga advance (RPI 30). Not sure if there's any possibility of hosting an Elite 8 game vs. Drake or Creighton should they advance, but I think the teams that advanced on the upper half of JMU's side (Texas Tech, TCU and Villanova) are all beatable.

If the Ladies finish strong, this may be a great banner year even without the NCAA bid. I think VCU could still do some damage on the other half. Would be great to see JMU and VCU both advance to the Final Four, although I'm not sure I want to play the Rams again after dropping three this year.

I think we would definitely host a game over Creighton. They average attendance was something like 1,000. Not so sure if we'd get the nod over Drake. They averaged around 400-500 more people than us this year. Let's take care of Kentucky and then worry about that, though.

women probably just got to Kentucky moments ago... im more excited for the womens team than the mens team obviously but how sweet would it be if we were watching jmu mens team take on UK.

i guess if we keep scheduling games with vmi and siena (although they ended up making the tourney) im going to be more of a womens fan
