William and Mary men's soccer coach Al Albert said the four players he signed to letters-of-intent will improve the Tribe's athleticism.

Chris Rodd, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound forward/midfielder from San Ramon, Calif., was his conference's Player of the Year as a junior. Jarrett Thomas is a speedy forward and first-team All-Met player from Washington, D.C.'s Gonzaga High, the same school that produced former Tribe standout Waughn Hughes.

Backs Mike Yakovac from Lake Braddock and John Lee from Midlothian High are in-state prospects. Yakovac is a soccer and track standout, Lee a versatile performer with the respected Richmond Magic club soccer program.

"William and Mary has a reputation of playing a more finesse kind of game," Albert said, "but between the guys we have coming back and the guys we've signed, we're going to be more athletic and I think we'll be harder to handle physically."
