Hey guys,
I couldn't get to the new board using Netscape. Since I couldn't get in, I thought the site was still down. When I used Netscape, I got a blank Caazone page. The only thing that worked was FAQ. Go figure! When I tried internet explorer I was able to access the entire board. I am still trying to catch up on reading everything here and on the other boards. The KU/UNC threads are funny. I think there are three threads. Someone even posted one of our forums. You guys could have found me there, but funny thing everyone there is Jayhawk too.

When I figure out how this new board works, we can start talking ODU hoops again. :D

Welcome back. What do you think about us having a chance at Diawara? Wouldn't that be awesome.

I saw on Rutger's board that Diaware was down to ODU and VT. Then, I thought I read on here Diaware's choices were ODU and WV. But, that she was going to BC.
I am not even sure ODU is pursuing her.
Is it a lock that Sangare is going to Memphis? We were confident that she was coming here.

Where's Al and PD?:(

Welcome back JayHawk. Please PM me with your thoughts about the whole Roy Williams scenario, ok?

Jayhawk! It's about dang time! Now I'll have to change my signature when I get a chance. ;)

Get caught up soon so we can all start talking recruiting. The late signing period has started, but no word on any Lady Monarch signings yet.

I guess we have only one scholarship to use right now. We have ten returning players with Shantel, 3 already signed, Alli in limbo and one left. I thought Sangare was the one, now Husky Nan mentioned on the Purdue board that Diawara was choosing between us and West Virginia. Who knows... Assi Ndoye is another name. I would say this scholarship has to go to a big girl.

Thanks to everyone.

Al, it's good to be here.
I kept wondering what you guys were up to. I was trying to figure out how to get you guys over at the phog since the caazone was down.

I am checking out the recruiting. Not a thing to report. I am still confused over the number of scholies left and what ODU deems to be a priority.

Ken, Roy who? Never heard of the guy.
Sure, I will send you a pm later tonight. A discussion on what's his name will take some time. I am off to enjoy my day

Jayhawk, I hear ya on the Netscape problems. I always had problems getting CAAZone to come up on Netscape. Even back when it was MasonHoops.

Any scoops on Roy's replacement? Take heart. Roy's first game at UNC may end up being in Chapel Hill against ODU. How great would it be to see the Monarchs rip the Roy's Heals! :D

I still haven't figured out the scholarship situation at ODU. Wendy said 3 with 1 in limbo, but that just doesn't add up. Unless someone will be on academic scholarship. I can't imagine someone leaving. Wendy still doesn't talk about the 3 that transfered back in 1999. Why would she hint about a transfer before anything is even released?

Koukou and Max were on Tony's show Monday. They mostly talked about being from another country and coming to college in America. Nothing earth shattering.

Koukou was recruited really late. They didn't talk to her until after she graduated from high school. Florida International was also interested in her. Max's coach in Portugal did all the work in getting her to the US. She also said she hopes to get her knee brace off for next year. Koukou had some minor knee problems a couple years ago and wears a little rubberband thing (prewrap) around her knee caps to releave the pain.

hey, hey wall03!:) Good to see you back too. Any news on local players?

Al, there are a lot of rumors going around on the next coach. I'll let you know when someone is signed.
If ODU is going to play the first game against UNC, then someone should tell the fans that. I saw a thread last week on "inside carolina" for the first game to be against KU. The thread got a lot of hits too. If you asked me, ODU should not play the first game against UNC. They are going to be hyped and no way will they let Roy lose his first game at home.

Good to hear from you again 03. Congrats on the great season at Deep Creek. Didn't the Deep Creek head coach resign a few weeks ago? Any word on a replacement?

ODU plays UNC in late November, either the 21st or the 24th. My memory fades with each passing day! ;) So unless UNC plays in one of those preseason island tournaments (which is possible), ODU should be their first game.

At the very least, the game will give ODU some national attention. I expect the game to at least be on Comcast. I'd love to see the game on ESPN. ESPN loves that type of "beloved coach returns home to right the ship" crap.

I've been meaning to ask you this PD: What in the world is going on in your picture??? :D

Al, you asked ....and here is the answer.

The new coach at Kansas will be Bill Self (Illinois).
If Self had said no, then the next choice would have been Marquette's Tom Crean. Glad the search is over. Not bad for a school that doesn't have an athlete director. Self inherits a Top 5 recruiting class. Two of the four players were ticked that Roy left, but said they would stay with Self onboard. Kansas may get Charlie Villanueva, if he is not projected as a top 15 pick in the NBA draft. Villanueva had verballed to Illinois, but wants to follow Self. I don't know anything about Charlie V. But, from reading our board everyone says he is a one and done guy. Personally, I don't care what Villanueva does. Kansas needed to salvage the recruiting class and that is done.

KU got a good one in Self. And Self walks into a pretty good situation with the talent KU has returning.

I hear Villanueva is headed to the NBA. At worst he's one year and gone in college. He's most likely going for the money.

PD, never did say what was going on in the photo. :D

I am trying to send you guys a link to a video. Let me know if it works.
It is pretty funny. Maybe something for the OT board later. But, I can't get the link to work. :D

Welcome back Jayhawk! I just got on the board myself, so I am trying to catch up with all the posting thats been going on. I don't know too much about Self, but it sounds like Kansas got themselves a very good coach. I don't think that Kansas will dwell too long on the loss of Roy with Self stepping right in. It sounds like they have a nice recruiting class to replace Collison and Heinrich.
