Incoming JMU freshman Lisa Tracy (who was never announced as a JMU signee) was playing in the Powers Summer League, along with several GMU players, a UD freshman, two Towson players, and a W&M player...

She's 6'0, on a very very slight frame, seems to have nice touch on her shot out to about 16 feet or so, with range out to 3-point land (though I don't know if she can hit from out there consistently). She seems to have good court awareness, good vision, yet lacking in athletic talent and no left hand handle...she can put it on the deck with her right though.

I don't know where she fits in, why she was never announced by jmusports.com as a signee, if she's a walk-on or whatnot. She can probably contribute, but she definitely has a lot of work to do if she wants to be a major contributor...

I'm almost positive this story is about her....

Being that I was sitting next to 'Holic at the games today, I can't say too much else other than what he's already posted. The girl did look pretty poised and had a decent amount of court sense, although I think she also managed to look lost at times because of the higher level of competition. I don't know if she has a left hand or not because she never had to use it in the time we watched. I don't know where she'll fit into our offense, maybe a 2 or skinny 3, but she'll definitely be coming off the bench and I doubt she'll ever see significant minutes with our team. Of course, we still haven't heard anything about this from JMU, so maybe the program just made a mistake and she's not really ours. *shrug*

As always, Jayhawk to the rescue. Thanks, Jayhawk!

I'm glad to see that this girl was offered a spot as a walk-on. I think she'll be a good practice player for the team because she shows intelligence, but I'm not sure if she has the raw talent or skills to play at the D-1 level. She looked kind of lost last night compared to the Mason girls on the other team. Of course, she was stuck playing against the likes of Jen Daniels, who I wouldn't be surprised to see as 2nd or 3rd team All-CAA this year depending on what Debbie does with her.

Tracy, who graduated 10th in her class last month and had a 4.30 grade-point average, also considered attending Virginia, Virginia Tech and William & Mary. But she likely wouldn't have had the chance to play basketball at any of those schools.

She can play for us but not W&M? Last I checked, W&M sucked horrifically...

But if she went to W+M she would've been forced to concentrate on her school work. She would've killed herself trying to play ball, too!
