ODU Volleyball

Why does ODU not have a women's volleyball team? I mean, every year when we are looking up scores and seeing how everyone's doing in the league, we always forget that ODU is the team that doesn't have a volleyball team. Has ODU had one in the past? Will they ever have one? I would think that it would be inevitable in order to add a sport like men's lacrosse (gives a VA CAA school MLAX). I would really love to see ODU play volleyball. Is it in the plans?

To answer all of your questions: No. Women's volleyball has not and is not in the works at Old Dominion anytime soon. I would not mind having a women's volleyball program but I really don't see the athletic department taking on the added expense.

ODU has a club volleyball team. But that's it. ODU has never had volleyball and probably won't add one anytime soon.

ODU is adding women's golf this year. That will even things out for Title 9 purposes. 8 men's sports, 8 women's sports.

ODU has a club men's lacrosse team as well. But that's it. ODU wouldn't start men's lacrosse either. WAY too costly. No Virginia CAA schools play it. Public high schools in Tidewater don't play it.
