Can't give Cooper credit for being in the WNBA, but I can give her credit for making UNCW relevant and in the top 4 of the CAA harrasing teams like ODU and JMU.

In 1 year, Cooper-Dyke turned UNCW from a laughing stock into a title contender. Already they've had the best season in school history. How she's losing this one is a travesty.

wait till tonight to make that judgement Seahawk. You all had the equivalent of Hofstra's mens schedule.

I don't care if we were playing NC Central every game. I can't remember a time when this fan base had any interest in women's basketball.

JMU posters are out in full affect with the homer votes today....

Why is it that all of these coaches have legit first names for both first and last name. Cynthia, Cooper, Kenny, Brooks, Wendy, Larry, Denise, Dillon. Seriously, wtf? Is this some sort of women's basketball coach requirement?

Were we not supposed to vote? Is this the Zonies except for JMU Awards?

Hater.

You really don't understand the award, it is not the vote for the candidate of your school award!

Oh, so just because we don't agree with your choice we are violating the rules. I see.

Make a case for JMU's coach. They were good, obviously but they are always good. Cooper turned the UNCW program from an average team to a title contender and set the school record for wins in ONE year!

Yeah, you really need to make a case for the top team in the league. I love the logic. "You're always good, so your coach is clearly not the best." Seahawkhoops - You can't be older than 19.

it's the same logic he used for Buzz being COY over Coach L

I'm loving the poll on CAAsports.com. It asks who will earn the #1 seed in the women's tourney. No one must be reading the question. A bunch of these Mason jackholes have voted for their women's team. You know, 6-11 in CAA George Mason.

I do commend them on that. I was not expecting a major three ball from the 5-2 player. I've got to say though, anger management classes need to be taken.

I don't go and not respond when I'm proven wrong. It should be a very interesting tournament this year.

This is kind of why I felt Blaine should have at least been nominated. Of course in saying that I received a few "underperformance vs. expectations does not a coach of the year make" comments. After all ODU was picked to win the CAA. The reason guys coaches like Mason or Hofstra are included for coach of the year is because of how unexpected their seasons are in comparison to ODU.

Well that's the same thing for UNCW women's hoops. JMU, ODU, they're CAA favorites - UNCW was not. This year they became a strong contender. 12-19 last year -> 22-7 this year ( still a tourney to go ).

Yeah. I certainly don't care if the guy disagrees, but to pretend like Kenny Brooks shouldn't be considered is mental.

Exactly. You put the best in the contention. Kenny Brooks is in contention. Wendy Larry is in contention. I guess VCU is in contention though I asterisk it because it's Virginia Commonwealth University. As a rookie coach Cynthia did what she did and it is more impressive than what Kenny did with that forward whose name I forgot but is really good and of course, Dawn Evans.

Yes i can be, probably older than you and obviously i knew something, My pick won coach of the year dare i say TOLD YA?

The logic is good logic, who does more with less, who exceeds expecations, not who was picked to finish first and does. I am sure your coach got recognized before when JMU was making its climb, now its our turn!

I gave you that i thought she should win the more because taking a team to new heights and over achieving was better than doing what you were supposed too, guess what the voters agree

The implication is that I (or anyone) NEED to make a case for Brooks. He just won the conference. Should I have typed that?

Cooper-Dyke was recognized by her CAA peers as the league's Coach of the Year. She also just led UNCW to a postseason victory over Richmond in their first ever NIT appearance. Just sayin'.

I don't think I've ever seen Seahawkhoops argue so vehemently for anything regarding women's basketball.
